The Bluestem FFA traveled to Chanute, Kansas today for the 15th Annual NCCC SMAW contest. A big congratulations to Mason Brenton and Kaden keil who tied for first place! They both will receive first place plaques as well as numerous Lincoln Electric tools and gear. We also would like to congratulate the rest of our team Landon Rowe, Tristan Campa-Garcia, Gus Kastner, Jaden Billings, Logan Hiedeman, as well as our first place winners for bringing home first place as a team in the high school division of the contest! They brought home a first place plaque to put up in the new shop in the fall. Congratulations to everyone today!

BES Honor Choir Blanket Fundraiser Each student in Bluestem Elementary has chosen a yarn to be crocheted into their own square that have all been joined together to make a cozy blanket that represents our elementary school! Purchase a ticket to win this hand-crafted item! Tickets are $5 a piece, or $20 for 5 tickets Tickets can be purchased in the BES office Or from an BES Honor Choir Member We will also raffle off a piece of pottery and a beautiful stained glass piece. The students are excited about their performances and it's evident they have excelled under Mrs. Winter due to her positive connections and leadership.” “Working with her on the school play, I saw the time, dedication, hard work and heart that she puts into the school plays. She is the director, but she is also the stage lighting expert, the set carpenter, the artist on set, the seamstress for costumes, the bargain shopper for props and even the therapist for the students. She is amazing at what she does and would be hard to replace!” “Mrs. Winter works tirelessly to provide an amazing education for students, as well as being play director, forensics coach, a junior class sponsor, along with many more things. She works hard every day to make connections with students from all walks of life. She sets expectations high but also finds any way to help her students meet those expectations and succeed. I believe that Mrs. Winter is one of the most deserving teachers on campus.” “Mrs. Winter is a sweet woman with a passion for teaching and building connections.
