Congratulations to the Bluestem High School Band for receiving an Outstanding 1 rating at this year’s State Large Group Festival this past Thursday! Band, thank you for your continued hard work and dedication! You represented the school and our band well!

Bluestem Forensics finished their regular season Saturday at Salina South with five medals and an additional state qualifier. The IDA (Improvised Duet Acting) team of Olivia Beason & Margaret Crafton finished third. Zola Batson placed third in POI (Program of Interpretation). Cassandra Keeler placed fourth in prose, and Zola Batson and Cassandra Keeler placed sixth in duet. Andrew Follett placed fifth in impromptu speaking and qualified for state champs in that event.
Wish the team luck as they gear up for their post season. Nine members of the team will be competing at state champs May 2nd at Sedwick.


There will be a meeting for those going out for High School Football next year during CE on Monday the 20th in Mr. Baker’s room. There is also a signup sheet on Mr. Baker’s door.

If you would like to become an FFA officer, the applications are in Mr. Guynn’s and Ms. Depenbusch’s classrooms.

FFA members are selling hog raffle tickets for the chance for 4 people to win ¼ of a hog. Tickets need to be turned in to Mr. Guynn and Ms. Depenbusch next week.

The middle school field trip to the Kansas State Capitol in Topeka is on Wednesday, April 15th. Kids going on the field trip MUST be at school by 8:00 am to catch the bus and will not be allowed to bring any food or drink. Pizza and water will be provided for lunch. If students want to bring money to purchase a drink at the capitol, they are welcome to do so. We will return to the school by 3:55 pm. 🚌
