Spelling Bee on February 2nd. Our 2nd place winner was Jordan Wells and 3rd place was Blakely Jones. Great job!

Cast of Medieval Nights is on Mrs. Winter’s door, room B3. Practice is today from 4-6. Make sure you sign up for the activity bus in the office if you need to ride it.
Juniors have concessions and a potato bar at the Homecoming basketball game. Please sign up on Mrs. Winter’s door. We need some new workers, since many of those who helped in the fall play basketball. We would also love to have your parents’ help if you will be playing.

Seventh and eighth grade will host their school spelling bee today during CE. Participants will be called down to the auditorium at the end of 5th hour. The champion of today’s spelling bee will represent Bluestem junior senior high school at the county spelling bee on February 2nd.

Due to dangerously cold wind chills Tuesday morning, there will be NO SCHOOL for USD 205 Bluestem Schools on January 16, 2023. The BHS Wrestling Jamboree and BHS Basketball games will proceed as scheduled.
Cell Phones and personal electronic devices during classes have become a distraction. To avoid distractions during class time, Bluestem Junior High will be following this protocol: If a student has their phone out during class, the teacher will request that they hand it over for the remainder of the end of the period. If a student refuses to hand their phone to the teacher, the student will be asked to go to the office. If the student refuses to go to the office, an administrator will be contacted to remove the student from class. We have discussed this policy extensively with the students since returning to school after winter break. We wanted to be certain families were also aware of the policy. Please know that the school office is a great way to make contact with your student if there is ever an emergency. The number is (316) 742-3281. Thank you for your support as we focus on improving our academic time during classes.
