If you are a junior and brought money for chili and cinnamon rolls, please bring that to Mrs. Oltman.
STUCO is hosting a powder puff flag football tournament. Sign up on the bulletin board next to the auditorium. Any boys in High School that would like to sign up to perform at halftime of the powder puff games can do so on the bulletin board by the auditorium. STUCO is also hosting an Iron Man volleyball tournament. Sign up sheets are outside the office. Please see Ms. McQuitty or Mrs. McLallen for more information.
STUCO will be playing music during passing period this week. Students can pay $1 every time they hear a song they don’t like to change it. There are no song suggestions. The playlist is pre-made.

Congratulations to Sophia Reyes on being named All-League Honorable mention this Volleyball season. #LIONPRIDE. Football results will be posted once all TVL schools are done playing football.

7th Grade Band Students please report to the music room for a rehearsal at 11:55 a.m. today. Thank you teachers for your help with this!
High School Boys Basketball will have a brief meeting in the weight room during character ed today. Please email Coach Gomez if you plan to play, but can not attend the meeting.

-STUCO is hosting Powder Puff flag football and Iron Man volleyball tournaments next Friday, Nov. 10th! -Participants must pay $2 to play. Spectators are welcome! $2 entry fee. Pop and candy will be available at the concession stand. -Powder puff will start at 6 pm at the football stadium. Iron Man volleyball will be in the elementary gym directly after powder puff. -There will be a special performance at halftime of the powderpuff games that you won't want to miss!



Junior High Basketball practice begins on Nov. 6th. after school. Boys will practice in the High School gym and girls will practice at the Elementary School.

Due to weather our Halloween parade will be moved inside beginning at 2:15 today. Parents, please take a seat in the bleachers in the gym. Thank you.

Retake Picture Day is Wednesday, Nov 8
This day is for students who need to be re-photographed and students who missed the original Picture Day.
Information for you:
Parents/guardians are now in a few different scenarios, depending on if they purchased and if their child was absent or if they were unhappy with the original picture. Read below to see how we handle each situation:
PARENTS/GUARDIANS WHOSE CHILD WAS ABSENT:
-Parents/guardians should send their child to school ready to be photographed.
-Parents/guardians who have previously placed an order do not need to place a new order.
-Parents/guardians who have not ordered can place an order using the Retake Event Order Code, 79075SF at https://inter-state.com/Order. This Order Code is different from the original Event Order Code.
-Parents who are unhappy with the original picture.
-Parents/guardians who placed an order should send the Picture Package, including the envelope, to school on Retake Day. Please ensure the package is given to the photographer so they have the information they need to replace the original picture with the retake. Our photographers need the Original Picture Packages to produce the Retake Picture Package.
-They should keep the Class Picture or yearbook, if the order included these items. Please return these to the parent/guardian if you see these items mistakenly returned.
-Customers who only ordered Digital Download Products should still have a Picture Package envelope with a Photo Statement to return.
-Parents/guardians who have not ordered can place an order using the Retake Event Order Code, 79075SF at https://inter-state.com/Order. This Order Code is different from the original Event Order Code.
INFORMATION FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS:
-Retake Picture Day is 11/08/2023! If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required.
-If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to the school four weeks after Retake Day. Please note, if your child is photographed on the original andRetake Picture Days, the Retake picture will replace the original picture in certain products, like the yearbook.
Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. If you have not preordered, please use the Retake Order Code 79075SF to place your order at https://inter-state.com/Order. To see your Order History, check your Inter-State Account.

Congratulations to our MS Wrestling team who placed in Burlington last night. Hunter Lies came in 4th place. 3rd place belongs to Paige Swanson, Dakota Whiteside, Chelsea Smith, Kooper Wiseman, Josh Highbarger & Tony Lindahl. Placing 2nd was Sadie Vice, Arya Lamb & Ryelan Eves. Your champions are Raegan Neal, Maicey Marrs, Savannah Marvin, Landen Niblett & Jr. Davis.

If you went out for football at anypoint this season and you do not turn in your stuff for it by the end of the day, you will get charged for the missing equipment! Turn items into Coach Ratzlaff or Burgardt.

You are only allowed to play with the girls in your grade. You can have up to 3 football players from your grade as your coaches. The games will be on Friday November 10th at 6 pm at the football field. Each person must pay $2 to play. Money and form needs to be turned in to Ms. McQuitty by November 8th. If you would like to watch and not play you will pay $2 at the gate.

You can have up to 10 people on a team and they do not have to be in the same grade. You can have up to 2 volleyball players as your coaches. Each person must pay $2 to play. The games will be held in the elementary gym around 7:45 pm on November 10th, right after powder puff. Forms and money is due to McQuitty by November 8th. If you would like to watch and not play you will pay $2 at the gate.

Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: If you are interested in going to WSUtech for Construction day on November 15 please talk to Mrs. Herbel. There will be construction companies there as well as heavy equipment demos and it is a great opportunity to see if WSUtech construction is for you.
If you would like to take a CNA course next spring, please come talk to Mrs. Herbel.
Sophomores who would like to attend WSUtech next year and would like to go on a visit December 6th, please sign up with Mrs. Herbel.

Congratulations to our HS football team for their victory over Republic County on Friday! Your hard word and many successes this season did not go unnoticed! You will also have equipment check in after school today.
Good luck to our MS wrestling team as they compete tonight in Burlington.
Everyone involved in the musical needs to come to a meeting during character ed in Mrs. Winter’s room. If you need to go to the choir rehearsal, you need to check in with her this morning. This is for crew and cast members, and it is important.

There will be a combined rehearsal for all singers in the 7th, 8th, and high school choirs during character ed today. Please check in with your character ed teacher, and then report to the auditorium for our combined rehearsal.

NHS Blood Drive will be on October 31st. If you are 16 and wish to donate blood, you must have parent consent. You can grab a consent form next to the office.

Congratulations to Seniors Zak Dotter (9'6) and Dagan Turner (7'10) on breaking the Standing Broad Jump school records in their respective weight divisions. #LionPride



On October 18th the Bluestem FFA competed in Dairy Cattle Judging in Newton. The team placed 2nd overall, and Natalie Smithson placed 6th individually while Gabe Oltman placed 10th individually. Congrats to Brody Myers, Tucker Carlisle, and Rex Rierson on their success!
