I am so excited about the opportunity at Bluestem for the upcoming school year. I have taught Middle School Social Studies for three years in the Wichita Public Schools. My husband and I welcomed our first baby, Talullah, in November. Growing up, I was active and participated in as many athletics as possible. I even played volleyball and basketball at Barclay College. I graduated from Wichita State University in 2021 with a degree in Middle-Level Education, focusing on English Language Arts & Social Studies. You can catch me outdoors hiking, kayaking, fishing, and camping in my free time. I can't wait to teach 6th grade at the elementary school I grew up in. Go Lions!

My name is Ashtyn Jurging and I am so excited to be teaching at Bluestem. I grew up just outside of Leon and went to school at Bluestem where I graduated in 2018.
After graduating, I attended Allen County Community College where I was a member of the softball team and earned my associate degree in education.
In 2023, I graduated from KU with my Bachelors in elementary education.
After graduating from KU, I spent my first year in the education field at Peabody-Burns Elementary School where I taught kindergarten.
I am so excited to be back home, and I cannot wait to see where this next school year takes me!
