The Bluestem High School would like to honor Everett "Doc" Watkins of Leon as the very first inductee to the Bluestem Military Wall of Fame. Doc proudly served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. While stationed, Doc was utilized as an instructor to train his fellow troops on how to properly utilize weapons.
Following his service in the Army, Doc taught in the Bluestem district from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. Throughout his career at Bluestem, Doc was heavily involved in athletics and went on to become Bluestem's first Athletic Director.
We are honored to recognize Doc and all of his accomplishments. He continues to be a vital asset to the Leon community through his service at the Senior Center and Leon Christian Church.
