The Bluestem chapter of the NHS would like to congratulate the following inductees for the 2024 school year: Sophia Ballard, Tyler Batson, Noah Couey, Bridget Mohr, Sami Owens, Ellie Nelson, Natalie Smithson, Hunter Thompson.
Congrats to the sophomore class on winning class of the year with 2,461 points!
Freshman came in 2nd with 2,288 points
Seniors came in 3rd with 2,169 points.
Juniors came in 4th with 1,900 points.
Attention FFA members. Blue and gold will be delivered today. Please talk to Ms. Depenbusch or Mr. Guynn for information on where and when to pick up your blue and gold.
Juniors, if you want to help decorate Wednesday or Saturday, please see Mrs. Winter ASAP.
Say Pledge
Based upon the weather forecast, the Bluestem Promenade will be held in the BJSHS Auditorium Saturday, April 20th. The time has been shortened to 7:15pm to 7:45 pm. All students must arrive at the Bluestem Jr/Sr High School by 7:40 pm to board the school bus to Flutterbye Ranch. Students will return by 11:20pm to enjoy after prom in the Elementary gymnasium until 2 am.

Attention FFA members, Blue and Gold will arrive on Tuesday April 16th! If you have orders make sure you swing by the parking lot east of the kitchen where we will be unloading all the goodies from the freezer. If you need assistance finding where to go locate an FFA advisor, Mr. Guynn or Ms. Debenbusch.

Thursday, April 11, 2024, Some members of the HS track team went to Chanute to participate in a JV meet.
Results were:
NPR’s: Logan Squier-Discus. Andrew Follet-Javelin, Discus.
2nd-Kenzie Gaston-Triple Jump, Logan Squier-Javelin(NPR)
Then our team went to Lindsborg to compete in the Smoky Valley track meet on
Friday, April 12, 2024, Our athletes competed against other athletes from 13 other schools 2A-4A. This was a very competitive track meet. Our athletes performed very well. We didn’t have as many placers, but we did improve in several events.
Results were:
NPR’s: Zoey Couey-200M, Terrin Fewin-Discus, Axton Vice-Javelin, Pole Vault.
3rd-Mallory Potter-High Jump, Brooklyn Korte-Pole Vault
Our Athletes have been doing very well this season.

Baseball gets swept by Humbolt by scores of 21-1 and 21-0.
Softball completes a sweep of Humboldt with scores of 15-4 and 14-0. #LIONPRIDE
Come out to the ball games this afternoon as we host Humboldt. Games begin at 3:00 PM.

Baseball swept Fredonia by scores of 16-1 and 8-7.

Yesterday at the FFA district livestock competition the Greenhand team placed 2nd overall! Gabe Oltman placed 1st and Emmalynn Nelson placed 3rd individually! The senior team placed 11th and Ellie Nelson placed 3rd individually! Congratulations

Today the FFA Chapter went to McPherson for the South Central District livestock judging competition. Our Greenhand team placed 2nd overall. Individually Gabe Oltman placed 1st and Emmalynn Nelson placed 3rd! The Greenhand team included Gabe Oltman, Emmalynn Nelson, Clara Buthe, Tucker Carlisle, and Logan Hiedeman. The senior team placed 11th overall. Ellie Nelson placed 3rd individually. The team consisted of Ellie Nelson, Reece Willhite, Jandi Carlisle, and Bileigh Youngblood.
