Noah Couey broke the Squat record previously held by Zach Medley (2013), Chevy Hoffman broke the Dead Lift record held by Caden Seadorf (2022), and Axton Vice broke the Bench Press record previously held by older brother Laythan Vice (2022). Keep up the great work!! #LionPride

Congrats to Malachi and Tucker on making all district for football! Proud of these young men.

Bluestem Family, we have had very valid questions and concerns today over a potential act of violence towards our district. It was stated that the situation was addressed, which is accurate. Due to the nature of it involving students, much of the information is confidential. As stated before, Administration was informed yesterday evening of potential violence at our high school by a current student. The Butler County Sheriff's office was notified and they promptly took over the investigation which proved to be an unsubstantiated claim. There was never any threat for our students or staff. A majority of the information being spread on social media is completely false. Our district will continue to focus on the safety of our students.

The wrestling teams will not practice today. Junior High Boys and Girls basketball will not practice tonight either. High School Basketball Boys and Girls will practice.

Bluestem family, there has been information on the social media of a threat of violence at our district. Your children's safety is our first priority. That threat was addressed yesterday evening by administration and law enforcement.

BES Craft Days are quickly approaching!

This reminder to all Junior High and High School parents who have an athlete participating in winter sports, there is a meeting for you at 6:00 PM this evening in the auditorium. See you then.

The Bluestem High School would like to honor Everett "Doc" Watkins of Leon as the very first inductee to the Bluestem Military Wall of Fame. Doc proudly served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. While stationed, Doc was utilized as an instructor to train his fellow troops on how to properly utilize weapons.
Following his service in the Army, Doc taught in the Bluestem district from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. Throughout his career at Bluestem, Doc was heavily involved in athletics and went on to become Bluestem's first Athletic Director.
We are honored to recognize Doc and all of his accomplishments. He continues to be a vital asset to the Leon community through his service at the Senior Center and Leon Christian Church.
