
Halloween Parade and Parties for Bluestem Elementary, Thursday, October 31st.
Our parade will begin at 2:30 with students walking out the south side of the building and parading down the sidewalk to the east side of the building. Parents please line the sidewalk to watch your child. Parties will begin once the parade has ended.

Tomorrow is our fall assessment day. Middle school students will have a regular school day. All freshmen will take the PreACT and all juniors will take the WorkKeys. Make sure you look for your testing location posted in the hallways this afternoon to report to your testing location at 8:00 am tomorrow morning. Freshmen and juniors will have regular classes following testing and lunch from 5th hour through the end of day. Sophomores will attend a career fair in Hutch. Make sure you arrive on time, you will not report to your first hour class - the buses will load at 8:00 am. Seniors will not report to school tomorrow. Make sure you have your college visit, job shadow, or community service experience scheduled and turn in your form on Thursday.
Would you like to dress up for Halloween at school on Thursday? This is your chance! Students will be allowed to wear costumes to school on Thursday for $1. No masks, real or fake weapons will be allowed. Pay $1 to get a wristband showing you are allowed to wear your costume when you get to school on Thursday. All money raised will go back to our student body so bring your $1 to participate on Thursday.
A couple of late congratulations for the weekend of sports recognitions:
Varsity boys won Thursday night versus West Franklin with a score of 38-8. Racking up 400 yards and taking a knee to end the game. Way to go Lions!
Congratulations to Reagan Neal on her 8th place finish at Regionals! Her time of 20:30 qualifies her for KSHSAA 2A State Championship in Wamego on November 2nd. Awesome job Reagan!
Musical cast and crew: We are ordering t-shirts for Annie. They are only $13. You need to tell Ms. Formy-Duval you want one and your size TODAY and bring money to Mrs. Winter by tomorrow. We need to tell the supplier how many to order today.
Reminder: the Bluestem National Honors Society Blood drive is today October 29th.

The Lady Lions Volleyball team concludes their volleyball season with a loss to Southeast by scores of 16-25 and 20-25. Great job this season!



Way to go Reagan! She placed 8th at Regionals in Marion. Her time of 20:30 qualifies het for KSHSAA 2A state championship in Wamego on November 2nd. Medal ceremony photos will be added to this post.




Game day today for Cross County as they compete in the Marion Regionals. Our Lady Lions Volleyball team competes in Sub State Volleyball in SE Cherokee @ 1:00 PM. Good luck lions! #LIONPRIDE


Congratulations to the Bluestem Lions football team. We will travel to Osage City on Nov. 1st to play in the KSHSAA 2A state playoffs. The game will begin at 7:00 PM.

Bluestem High School will celebrate the Fall 2024 Homecoming on Thursday, October 24th. We will crown our King and Queen at halftime of the football game against West Franklin.
