Congratulations to the following 8th grade students who performed in the Kansas Music Educators Association Middle Level Honor Band this past Saturday in Goddard: Arya Lamb (Flute), Hailey Riead (Clarinet), and Jaiden Batson (Trombone).
Also, this past Saturday, we had three high school musicians who were selected to the South Central Music Educators Association Honor Groups through the audition process. Zola Batson was selected to the High School Honor Choir, Dalis Whiteside and Tyler Batson where selected to the High School Honor Band. Congratulations to these musicians! Their performance will be on Saturday, December 7th at Maize South High School. Following their participation in this event, they will become eligible to audition for the All-State Groups!

On Saturday, November 9th, Hailey Riead, Jaiden Batson, and Arya Lamb performed as part of the SCKMEA Middle Level Honor Band! You represented Bluestem well!



The BJSHS Drama department is excited to perform Annie this Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm both evenings. Come out and see a great performance! Admission is free for students, $10 for adults.

Please plan to attend the fall musical, Annie, this weekend! Students get free admission, and adults are $10. The shows are Friday and Saturday at 7pm. The show lasts about 90 minutes.
All High School Boys who are playing basketball this year, Coach would like to meet with you in the gym Wednesday after school from 4:00-5:00 PM.
Today the 8th grade, Junior & Senior Character Ed classes will go to the auditorium for a guest speaker from Spirit Aerosystems. But, go to class first for attendance.

Veteran's Day
I am asking our elementary students to bring pictures or simply names of their family members and what branch they served in the armed forces. Please put a name on the back of the picture so I am able to return them. Please no pictures larger than a 5X7. I will have them posted on a bulletin board in the commons to honor our local heroes. I would like to have all the pictures by November 11th.

Reminder the High School Choir and Band Concert is set for 7:30 PM on Tuesday Nov. 5th. The 7th/8th Grade Choir and Band Concert will be on Nov. 18th @ 7:00 PM. Looking forward to hearing all the hard work showcased tomorrow.

Congratulations to Reagen Neal, as she finishes 12th place with a time of 21:23, at the Stare cross country meet this past weekend in Wamego. We are so proud of your success this season!

Picture re-takes for the elementary are Tuesday, November 5th. If you are unhappy with your child's pictures, you must return the picture packet you received at the camera before a new one will be delivered. If your child was absent, their picture will be taken for the yearbook and you will be able to order those pictures online.

Today is our fall assessment day. Middle school students will have a regular school day. All freshmen will take the PreACT and all juniors will take the WorkKeys. Freshmen and juniors will have regular classes following testing and lunch from 5th hour through the end of day.
If you are a Sophomores or Seniors please report to the office or SSC as you are in the wrong location!
Would you like to dress up for Halloween at school on Thursday? This is your chance! Students will be allowed to wear costumes to school on Thursday for $1. No masks, real or fake weapons will be allowed. Pay $1 to get a wristband showing you are allowed to wear your costume when you get to school on Thursday. All money raised will go back to our student body so bring your $1 to participate on Thursday.
Musical cast and crew: We are ordering t-shirts for Annie. They are only $13. You need to tell Ms. Formy-Duval you want one and your size TODAY and bring money to Mrs. Winter by tomorrow. We need to tell the supplier how many to order today.
Reminder: the Bluestem National Honors Society Blood drive is today October 29th.
