
The Bluestem FFA Chapter made it to the National FFA Convention and Expo! There was over 65,000 FFA members from across the country that all met in Indianapolis Indiana. Today they went to the opening session At Lucas Oil Stadium and listened to the keynote speaker Tamika Catchings.




As we look forward to the upcoming events at Bluestem, we have a large amount of Junior High Students who are wrestling at the Tri-Valley League meet on November 3rd. We will need to move the Junior High Choir and Band Concert to 6:30 pm on November 8th. This will be prior to the High School Choir and Band Concert. We plan on the High School Band and Choir Concert starting at 7:30 PM. If you have any questions or concerns please call the JH/HS Office at (316) 742-3281.


Elementary picture re-takes are Wednesday, November 2nd. If you do not like your child's picture, please have them bring the packet to the camera to exchange for retakes.

There has been some confusion regarding the date of our elementary Halloween Costume Parade and parties. Mr. Carpenter has decided to stay with the calendar, which is Monday, October 31st. The parade will be outside and will begin at 2:15, parties will follow in the classrooms.

Bluestem FFA traveled to Winfield to compete in Dairy Cattle Judging and Dairy Foods. Congratulations to our Dairy Cattle team that placed 6th overall.

Bluestem Jr/Sr High School Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences are this Thursday, October 20 from 12:30-8 pm. Here are a few quick pieces of information regarding conferences this year! We look forward to seeing you to discuss your child's success!
When: Thursday, October 20
Time: 12:30-8 PM- Conferences at the JR/SR High School are come and go. You can see all the teachers or if you have questions for just one or two you can just visit with them. Please know that because of this open structure some teachers may have longer lines than others.
Where: Bluestem Jr/Sr High School Gymnasium- teachers will be set up in the gym area and you can visit with teachers in whatever order you like.
Who: We invite both parents and students! We would love your child to come with you and if possible bring a charged Chromebook so they can show you some of the resources we use online.
What if I can't attend: We understand that time is precious and you may not be able to attend. We do encourage you to visit with your child this week regarding their grades and look over Powerschool. If you have any questions or concerns, please email/call the teacher directly to set up a time to visit about the concern more.

Bluestem FFA traveled to Kiowa Kansas last week for the South Barber Livestock Judging Contest. Reece Willhite placed 8th in the senior division and Natalie Smithson placed 11th in the senior division. Our senior team placed 9th overall.
