Congratulations to Seniors Zak Dotter (9'6) and Dagan Turner (7'10) on breaking the Standing Broad Jump school records in their respective weight divisions. #LionPride


On October 18th the Bluestem FFA competed in Dairy Cattle Judging in Newton. The team placed 2nd overall, and Natalie Smithson placed 6th individually while Gabe Oltman placed 10th individually. Congrats to Brody Myers, Tucker Carlisle, and Rex Rierson on their success!

Frankenstein Vote: Please check your school email for a link to vote for your favorite Frankenstein model. Votes are due at the end of the day today!
NHS Blood Drive will be on October 31st. If you are 16 and wish to donate blood, you must have parent consent. You can grab a consent form next to the office.
If you would like to take Butler classes next semester, please reach out to Mrs. Herbel. Butler enrollment for the spring is November 1st.
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: If you are interested in going to WSUtech for Construction day on November 15 please talk to Mrs. Herbel. There will be construction companies there as well as heavy equipment demos and it is a great opportunity to see if WSUtech construction is for you.
If you would like to take a CNA course next spring, please come talk to Mrs. Herbel.
Sophomores who would like to attend WSUtech next year and would like to go on a visit December 6th, please sign up with Mrs. Herbel.

There will be a trapshooting team meeting tonight at 6:00PM in the HS library. The trap team is open to all students grades 7-12. The meeting is for all students and parents who are interested in being on the trap team.
We will be taking Sophomores to the Career Expo at the Kansas State fairgrounds in Hutchinson today. We will be departing from school at 9:00, attend the fair from 10:30-11:30, eat lunch, and be back at school by 2:00.
Juniors will be taking the Workkeys test tomorrow. This is a test to measure foundational skills required for success in the workplace, and help measure the workplace skills that can affect job performance.

Good luck to the JV football team as they compete tonight in Douglass.

The 8th grade students made their own version of Frankenstein’s monster and now we want to know which one is the favorite. Check your school email for a Google Form and vote TODAY! Voting closes at 11:59 pm!

Come out and support the Lady Lions in the KSHSAA Sub-State at Haven. We will play Wichita Collegiate at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Go Lions!

Friday Night Busy Lights in Leon tomorrow. Please come by and support Troy Gaston at the bake sale. We will also recognize our Seniors in Cheer, Dance, and Football at 6:15 PM.

Just a reminder, there will be no school at either building tomorrow due to parent teacher conferences. Conferences will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
