Mr Jackson will reach out when the new date has been set. The theme for Tuesdays home HS volleyball game is NEON and the theme for this Fridays home football game is Hawaiian! Come dressed ready to cheer on your lions and earn some COTY points!!!! You must stay until after the volleyball game is over to be counted for points and until the 3rd quarter for football! Remember, Middle schoolers only get points for showing up to MS games and HS kids only get points for HS games. Sign-ups for the fall musical The Wizard of Oz are on the bulletin board outside room B3. It is open to students 7-12. Sign up your name and the roles you would like to try out for and choose a try-out time. We will get you try-out materials this week. Try-outs will be this Friday and next week. It was exciting to see so many alumni return to the Blue and Gold scrimmage. It was a fun night for all. Next week we begin the season with VB at home on Tuesday and FB home on Friday. Best of luck this year Lions!
Here are a few things to remember for this evening's Blue and Gold Scrimmage. We will begin at 5:00 PM with the Volleyball team playing. We will recognize and introduce the football team following that. The junior high teams are not participating tonight. The booster club will be selling sports passes. The cost is $50 for an Individual or $75 for a family. They are only able to take cash or checks.
Vaccination clinic
With the extreme heat warnings extending into the weekend, the outdoor portion of the Blue and Gold Scrimmage has been canceled. We still want to recognize our high school football team so following the volleyball scrimmage we will do that in the High School gymnasium. Please come out and cheer on the Lions as we prepare for the upcoming seasons. Our Blue and Gold Scrimmage will begin at 5:00 PM. The Booster Club will serve hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and a drink in the commons following all the activities, approximately around 7:00 PM.

High school football meeting in coach bakers room during CE
There will be a High School Student Council meeting today, Monday, August 21st, during Character Ed in the Auditorium. We will be working on the Pep Assembly that will take place on Thursday afternoon at 3:00.
There will be an officer team meeting for the FFA today during Character Ed in Ms. Depenbusch’s room.
Students, if you do not have a bag to put in the locker room in the morning, you are not allowed to be in the gym/locker rooms.

On Monday, August 21st at 6 pm, there is a parents meeting for ALL parents of students who are playing fall sports. This meeting is not the same as the one that coaches will have. The meeting will be in the Bluestem High School auditorium. Can't wait to see you there!
The football captains for the 2023 season will be Tucker Gibb, Brody Mohr, and Laythan Vice! The fourth captain will rotate weekly. Congratulations to these young men who strongly represent the team, school, and the community!
The Bluestem Fishing Team has partnered with the Butler Homeless Initiative to raffle off 1/2 of a processed beef. Tickets are $20 and the drawing is September 16th. Reach out to a fishing team member or the office to get yours today!

Bluestem FCA is a student club open to students 7th-12th grade. FCA stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is open to any student who might be interested in learning more about the Bible. We will meet every 3rd Monday during Character Ed and also every Wednesday morning at 7 am for breakfast and devotional. For more information please see Mrs. Smithson.
Gatorade Bars and Shakes are in. You can purchase them from Mr. Babcock.

Do not forget to return your completed physical to the office. If you don’t have one, you are not eligible to participate in athletics.
