Pilar Cox had a great Sophmore season last year. She set two new school records for hits and RBIs. She was also named to the 1st team all-state team as a Pitcher. We are excited to see what this spring holds for you. #LIONPRIDE

Middle school-it is time to earn some COTY points! MS football team plays at home this Thursday! The theme is Hawaii. 
If you would like to take Butler classes next semester, please reach out to Mrs. Herbel. Butler enrollment for the spring is November 1st. 
Juniors-if you would like to sign up for the PSAT test on October 11th, the sign-up is on Mrs. Herbel’s door. This is a great way to practice for the ACT as well as qualify for scholarships. There are only 10 spots available so sign up ASAP.
Freshmen who would like to take the Pre-ACT, please let Mrs. Herbel know. The Pre-ACT predicts how you will do on the ACT which is a college entrance exam.
Drama members, please register for TheaterFest, if you haven’t already done so. You have an email from Mrs. Winter with the link.
Out of district homecoming dance forms are located right outside of the office. They are due in the office by Sept 21st.

Sophomores and juniors are currently selling chocolate bars for $1. You may purchase from a class member, Ms. Keith in A2, Mrs. Winter in B3 in the mornings or Mrs. Oltman in A8 in the afternoon. Please only go to buy from them during passing period, and you cannot be tardy to class.
BIGS is now taking applications.  BIGS is open to all high school students who are in good standing and have 20-30 minutes per week to spend with a little from the elementary school.  Applications can be found by the main office door.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Brown.

Bluestem Elementary Spirit Week in support of the Lions! The week beginning Sept. 25th. Monday- camo day, Tuesday-pajama day(no pillows, blankets, or stuffed animals), Wednesday-Crazy hair day, Thursday-Class colors, ECE and PK- blue, Kindergarten-purple, 1st grade-red, 2nd-yellow, 3rd-green, 4th-orange, 5th-white, 6th-black. This is optional. No shirt with your class color, wear a Bluestem shirt!

Congratulations to our HS band on their successful performances at the state fair yesterday. In the parade division, the band received a composite score of an excellent 2 rating. In the arena performance division, the band received a superior 1 rating from each judge resulting in an overall superior 1 rating! This is the first superior 1 rating the HS band has received at a music festival for several years. Great job to all of our band members and the success you have brought to Bluestem!
Good luck to our MS volleyball & football teams as they compete tonight in Caney, our cross country team as they run at Central HS, and to our HS volleyball team as they battle it out at Elyria.
