It's a winter wonderland in Early Childhood! We have been learning about snow and writing our names in shaving cream "snow," breaking letter and shape blocks out of the ice game, and even a toilet paper snow ball fight! We have been working on all parts of our development that are important in early childhood such as social-emotional, cognitive, language, and motor skills.




BJSHS Girls Basketball

The Bluestem Elementary Spelling Bee was held on Wednesday, January 8th. Congratulations to our Champions! First place-Evyn Neal, 2nd place-Ellie Nelson, and 3rd place-Terrin Fewin. Evyn will represent our school at the Butler Co. Spelling Bee on February 7th.

MS Basketball Schedule for today's home games vs. Humboldt.

The HS gym will be open 2-4 today. All ages welcome!
Scholars Bowl at Bishop Carroll tomorrow has been cancelled.
All BJSHS afternoon activities have been cancelled.
Due to weather and the safety of all traveling, the Charles McMillen Wrestling Tournament at Herington High School has been cancelled for tomorrow.
Tonight’s basketball games vs Erie have been Postponed. The games have been rescheduled for Thursday, January 30th.
BJSHS Weekly Activities 1/13-1/18

Tonight's home basketball event against Erie is still on as scheduled. Administrators from both schools have been in communication regarding the weather and will notify all parties of any changes by 1:30 PM.
Senior basketball player Garrett Korte signed with Southwestern College today to continue his academic and basketball career.

Reminder: There will be an Outdoor Club Parents Meeting Thursday, January 9th @ 6:30pm in the HS library. If your child is interested in participating in the Trap Shooting or Archery program you need to attend this meeting.
Mrs. Greene’s Class, Gabe Oltman gets to share the farrowing process of his pig that is housed in Oakland, Iowa. The students were able to watch live.


There will be a outdoor club parents meeting on Thursday the 9th at 6:30 pm in the high school library. If your high school or middle school child is interested in being on the trap shooting or archery team you must attend this meeting
Please come out and support HS basketball at home against Erie this Friday! It will be Throwback Jersey Night and the best dressed will win a prize. Booster Club has old jerseys for sale for $5. Also it will be Alumni Band Night! Go LIONS!!

Any high school student interested in officiating or working little league basketball games can attend a clinic in the high school library on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 7 pm. Please contact Coach Babcock if interested.
