The USD 205 Board of Education approved "optional" face coverings for all students and staff effective immediately. These changes were based upon district and county COVID data. USD 205 has had only 1 positive case in the past 6 weeks in the student body and 0 in the past 2 months with staff. There are 5 current active cases in Butler County, 0 of them are in the four zip codes compiling USD 205. Based on this information and our staff’s ability to complete their 2nd round of vaccinations the Board approved changes to the school reopening plan that included face coverings be moved from “required” to “optional” for all staff and students. They will continue to monitor district and county data. No changes were made to mass gathering numbers at this time, they will continue to assess in the upcoming weeks as the district moves closer to the Spring Play and Graduation.
