The Junior Class and Junior Class After Prom are selling chances to win 1/2 of a processed hog. 🐷 The JUNIORS will start selling tickets this Friday, September 4th. The pig will be fully processed and the TWO winners will be drawn on October 22nd during half-time of the Donkey Basketball Game. 🏀 The winners do NOT have to be present to WIN!!

We would like to thank 2001 Bluestem Alumni Michael Walz for his generous donation of a framed Bluestem Band Uniform from 1977-1993! Michael was able to preserve this part of Bluestem history by saving a uniform when a storage room was being cleaned out at the school years ago during the Jr/Sr. High School building merger. This set of uniforms was ordered by the first band director to teach in the current Jr/Sr. High School building, Mr. John Templin, who is still a resident of Leon, KS. The current band uniforms at our school were introduced in 1993-1994 but have since been aged out due to age and condition. Thank you so much, Michael Walz, for your very generous donation! Go Band!

HS Football participated in the Douglass Jamboree. They were able to get some valuable reps against some other teams
HS Volleyball participated in the Flinthills Jamboree. They competed against some other teams and were able to test their skills before their season opener this Tuesday at Central Burden.
The Chess Club will meet during Character Education next Monday in Mr. Williams’ room. The Chess Club will have several meets and tournaments throughout the upcoming school year. You don’t have to be a master or even know how the pieces work to join. We will teach you! Come down and have some fun playing chess with your friends. If you have any questions, please talk with Mr. Williams or Mr. Adelson.
