On Wednesday, September 18th, the thirty-one member Bluestem High School Band marched at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchison. The band participated in two events at the fair this year including the parade competition and the arena competition. The band received an Excellent Two Rating in the parade category (on a 5-1 scale, 1 being the highest a band can receive) and an Excellent Two Rating in the arena category! A total of 51 school bands competed in one or both categories this year on the same day. Way to go Bluestem Marching Pride! We are proud of your hard work!” A special thank you to Mrs. Whiteside for assisting during this event and to Jerry for driving the bus!
