Brett Jurging - 2011 - 2012 Board President.
Brett Jurging joined the Bluestem school board during the December 2006 meeting. He graduated from Bluestem High School in 1991. His goal as a board member is to make the learning exprience as fun as possible and to help provide a safe and successful learning environment.In his spare time, Brett loves to hang out with his family. Kenney Sowers - Board Member
Board Member Kenny Sowers has lived in district since the early 1970's. His goals are to provide a positive learning environment where young people can learn life skills needed to become successful adults. He believes as a parent, teacher, coach, and school leader, we have the opportunity to influence the outcomes of our child's life. It is a tremendous responsibility not to be taken for granted. He truly believes we all must continue to support one another, to be successful as a school. He also believes as parents we are given the responsibility to be involved in all aspects of our children's lives. His wife and him encourage there children to be leaders amongst their peers and to lead by example. He sees the BOE position as a great opportunity to lead by example being more involved with the lives and education of not only his own children, but all the young people of this community by having a positive impact in the leadership of our school. Melissa Hatfield - Board Member
Melissa Hatfield has been serving on the board since July of 2005. After graduating from high school, she attended Wichita State. She has a degree in accounting. Melissa's goal as a BOE member is to investigate the implementation of concurrent credit and online grading.
