April 11, 2016

The Board saw presentations by BES/BMS Robotics (Sponsor: Becky Henry) and BHS Intro to Agriculture Class (Teacher: Kasie Kieffer).

The Board approved the consent agenda that included approval of the March 7, 2016 regular meeting minutes, financial reports and claims, the approval of bus usage for the After Prom Party on April 15, 2016, accepted a $700 BASE grant for Barb McCaffee (Ag in the Classroom), and accepted the 2014-2015 Fiscal Audit.

The Board heard staff reports.

The Board approved changing the district calendar date of May 12, 2016 from a regular student attendance day to a staff development day for the reason of State Writing Assessment training and grading.

No one addressed the Board during Public Participation Forum.

The Board entered a series of executive sessions to discuss non-elected personnel.

The Board approved the employment of Brent Trujillo as BJSHS social studies teacher.

The Board approved the employment of Danielle Trujillo as BJSHS math teacher.

The Board approved the employment of Jordan Echer as BJSHS PE teacher and Head Football Coach.

The Board approved the employment of Dexter Carpenter as BES Principal.

The Board adopted a final resolution to notify Jennifer Kramer-Leeker of its intent to non-renew her teaching contract for the 2016-2017 school year.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:20 p.m.
