Board Meeting Notes

February 9, 2015

The Board approved the consent agenda that included the minutes of the January 12, 2015 regular meeting, financial reports and claims, and accepted a $2500 grant from America’s Farmers Grow Communities.

Several 6th grade students from Mrs. Henry’s class presented their Footlocker assignments and also had a very informative demonstration of their robotics competition project.

The board heard several staff reports.

The Board approved Resolution 2015-02-02 which is in opposition to Senate Bill 171. This bill would move School Board elections from April to November. The signed resolution will be provided to our district’s State Senator.

The Board discussed the 2015-2016 school year calendar recommendations. Final action will be taken at the March BOE meeting.

There were no speakers for the Public Participation Forum.

The Board entered an executive session to discuss employer-employee negotiations. 

The Board entered an executive session to discuss non-elected personnel.

The Board accepted the resignation of Kelley Sayahnejad as BJSHS Assistant Football Coach and Head Track Coach at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.

The Board employed Michelle Womacks as the BHS Head Softball Coach.

The Board adopted a resolution to notify a teacher of its intent to non-renew their teaching contract for the 2015-16 school year.

The Board approved Administrator contracts through the 2016-2017 school year.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 10:27 pm.
