June 9, 2014

The Board approved the consent agenda that included the May 12, 2014 regular meeting minutes, the financial reports and claims and approval of Leon UMC bus request.

The Board heard staff reports.  Mr. Rivers informed the Board of the special education Interlocal cooperative’s notice that local district assessments for 2014-2015 would increase approximately $17,000 due to decreasing categorical state aid for special education teachers from the State.

Mr. Minks, Coach Scribner and Coach Womacks presented a proposal to grass the baseball infield to alleviate drainage issues for 2014-2015 season. The Board voted to approve the project.

The Board had its regular public participation forum.  No patrons addressed the Board.

The Board entered a series of executive sessions to discuss employer / employee negotiations and non-elected personnel.

The Board approved the resignation of Chris Houseman.

The Board approved the resignation of Anna Noble.

The Board approved the retirement of Lynn Kilgore.

The Board approved the employment of Amy Barnes as a BES 5th grade teacher for the 2014-15 school year.

The Board approved the employment of Angela Glaves as the BES counselor / district test coordinator for the 2014-15 school year.

The Board approved the list of supplemental duty assignments for 2014-2015.

The Board meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM
