Meet Mrs. Winter
2009-2010 Language Arts
Mrs. Winter went to grew up in Hill City, Kansas and went to Hill City schools all the way up until her high school graduation. Afterwards, she attended Fort Hays State University and graduated from there with a bachelors and masters degree.
Mrs. Winter didn't decide she wanted to be a teacher until her sophomore year in college. She has been teaching at Bluestem High School for six years counting this one. For her, the best thing about teaching is working with people. She is really looking forward to learning about the topics of the research papers next semester in English 09. "They always pick really interesting topics", she says.
Mrs. Winter was known as Ms. Scott until school year 2006-07! It was a habit to call her Ms. Scott for all those students that had her before, but they got used to it.
Mrs. Winter teaches mostly freshman classes, but is also in charge of the newspaper and yearbook staff! Every year the students create a new look for the cover and modify the pages so they stay exciting!
