Mass Media - Visual
Students apply language arts skills towards publication of the school yearbook, The Pride. The course requires a large amount of out-of-class and out-of-school time, a lot of writing and revising, and a strict adherence to deadlines. Students must have a high respect for journalistic style and ethics, be able to work as a member of a team, be able to accept constructive criticism from adviser and other students, and be willing to do whatever is necessary to turn in work of the highest possible quality and to meet deadlines. This course requires meeting during the summer, both before school starts and after school is out. this course counts as elective credit. Contact Mrs. Winter for an application.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Computer Technology, complete application and Instructor acceptance.

Mass Media - Print
This course requires a great deal of out-of-class research (formal and informal), writing, and revising, as well as a strict adherence to deadlines, as students work together to publish the school newspaper, The Lions Roar. Students must have a high respect for journalistic style and ethics, be able to work as a member of a team, be able to accept constructive criticism from adviser and other students, and willing to go "above and beyond the call of duty" - to put in whatever time outside of class and school is necessary to get the story, to get the story right, and to meet the deadline. This course counts as elective credit. Contact Mrs. Winter for an application.
