Digital Art
Students taking this course will learn how to operate several
graphic art application software. Graphic art software allows for
the enhancement and editing of illustrations and digital graphic
images. Students will use the technologies of a digital camera and
a scanner to create several digitized images and a variety of
graphic art projects.
Prerequisites: Pass Career Exploration and Art I Design.
Multimedia
Students taking this course will learn how to operate a variety
of multimedia software. Each multimedia software program varies as
it allows the student to experience movie editing, adding special
effects, create titles, produce credits, as well as create and
design every aspect of a television or multimedia production. Upon
mastery of the software, students complete a variety of complex
projects.
Prerequisites: Pass Career Exploration and Art I Design
Web Page Design
Students taking this course will be exposed to the foundations
of web design and HTML structure. Throughout the course, students
will work on a variety of projects that will investigate site
design and management. Students will work with text, images, and
colors while developing linked web pages with a variety of
components. With assistance from the facilitating instructor,
students will work on the year long activity of maintaining the
district web site.
Prerequisites: Pass Introduction to Computer Technology, Art I
Design, and Digital Art
Desktop Publishing
Students taking this course will learn how to operate Adobe
application software of "InDesign" and Acrobat. Students
will learn how to use the software to create a variety of documents
including flyers, multi- page reports with graphics, brochures with
graphics, multi- page newspaper, letterhead stationary, envelopes,
business cards, and a variety of other types of documents. The
student will also learn how to create PDF’s (Portable Document
Format) which are universal files that can be opened on any
platform or operating system computer. Professional business
techniques will be stressed and required from the student.
Prerequisites: Pass Career Exploration and Introduction to
Computer Technology
Video Production
Students taking this course will learn how to operate a variety of
video production equipment and software. The student will
experience video production editing, adding special effects, create
titles, produce credits, create and design every aspect of a
presentation, perform interviews, and attend a variety of events to
record material. Students will be required to attend Board of
Education meetings, athletic events, and local meetings with
assignments to tape/record events, edit, and create a video
production. Upon mastery of the core competencies, students will
complete a variety of complex projects.
