...Board Meeting Notes
The Board convened its July reorganizational meeting at 7:00 PM on Monday, July 20, 2009.
The Board elected Kenny Sowers its president for 2009-2010 and also elected Brett Jurging vice president for the same period.
The Board approved the consent agenda that included, 1) minutes of the June 8th regular meeting and June 22nd special meeting; 2) approval of financial reports and claims; 3) acceptance of a gift from the estate of May Marsh on behalf of BASE; 4) approval to pay administrative dues to the United School Administrators; 5) acceptance of a bid for a basement to begin the third building and trades house; 6) final approval of the coaching handbook; and 7) numerous formal appointments and resolutions for the 2009-2010 school year.
No one addressed the Board during the public participation forum.
Superintendent Rivers informed the Board that the sale of the second building trades house was progressing. A sales contract should be completed within a week.
The Board reviewed the Notice of Budget Hearing and approved its publication. The Budget Hearing is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Monday, August 10th.
The Board adopted a meeting calendar plan for 2009-2010.
The Board entered a series of executive sessions to discuss nonelected personnel.
The Board accepted the resignation of Connie Donnelly as food service worker and Steven Clark as middle school asst. football coach.
The Board approved the transfer of Mary Brewer to full-time food service worker.
The Board approved the employment of Todd Leed as BHS Volleyball coach.
