2008 SELL OUT BLUE Football Camp
"What we did this summer!"

Twenty-seven participate in the 2008 “SELL OUT BLUE” Football Camp July 28 through August 1. SELL OUT BLUE quite literally means give your ALL for the football program!
George Stewart designed a tight schedule of daily activities focused on fundamentals – blocking, tackling, and learning new plays. The weather was cool for late July/early August and that was helpful as players did ‘gassers’ at the close of each camp day as part of summer conditioning and strength training. One ‘gasser’ is running 100 yards with exercise intervals at 20 yards. The exercises included 10 push-ups, then 10 sit-ups, then 10 jumping jacks, and ended with 5 up-downs. All 2008 Bluestem High School Football Players must complete 50 ‘gassers’ prior to the first game on September 5. Players earned ‘gassers’ by participating in the SELL OUT BLUE Football Camp and conditioning sessions through the summer. )
The following attended the SELL OUT BLUE camp:
Seniors: Alex Cooper, Kevin Hampton, Chris Hodges, Wade McHone, Zack Muckenthaler, Darius Semisch, and William Wedman.
Juniors: Daniel Carter, Ethan Haworth, and Cody Roberts.
Sophomores: Justin Elliot, Eric Esparza, Zach Haney, Alex Muckenthaler, Justin Oliver, Seth Otis, Denver Ridgway, and Clint Solis.
Freshmen: Trey Farthing, Garrett Gross, Nick Hampton, Jordon Haworth, Chad Izzo, Cade Minnick, Auggie Schmidt, Matt Womacks, and Ty Young.
Camp was full of challenges but there was fun, too! Each of the five days ended with a surprise – lemonade popsicles, Gatorade, more popsicles, a hot dog feed, and swimming at the YMCA in El Dorado.
Camp coaches were George Stewart, Tod Johnson, Kyle Madden, and Buford Pringle. Helping the coaches was: Emily Haaga, Alisha Otis, Paula Ridgway, and Garrett Johnson.
