Sixth Graders Pack Poetry Power

     Earlier this spring, the Sixth grade students entered a poetry contest held by Creative Communications.  Bluestem Elementary Leon received a Poetic Achievement Award for having more than 50% of its entries published.  This honor puts Bluestem in the top 10% of the schools who entered the contest.  Thirty-three of the forty-four students that entered the contest will be published in the upcoming anthology A Celebration of Young Poets.  The students are as follows: Brianna Archer, Shelby Augur, Serena Barnett, Alli Becker, Emily Bevan, Justice Bidwell, Nataleigh Butler, Kelsey Edwards, Sierra Gale, Tristan Gray, Colter Griggs, Logan Haworth, Cassidy Holtz, Autumn Holtz, Katlin Jurging, Derrian Keil, Tristen Landreth, Casady Marlnee, Kari Nixon, Alex Owens, Brandon Powell, Amanda Reno, Kiplee Richards, Garrett Robbins, Nick Saia, Kincade Sowers, Rebecka Stevens, Machella Throckmorton, Colton Tillman, Destiney Webster, Jaydon Wells, Adam Wolfe, and Charity Young.  The anthology will be published later this year.   The next poetry contest deadline is August 15th, if your student would like to enter, they may go to www.poeticpower.com to receive more information.
