ONEOK Grants

BASE has now closed the application window for the 2008 ONEOK Foundation grant.  Grant applications were reviewed by the BASE Board and one was selected as a candidate for the ONEOK Foundation to consider.  The approved grants will be announced by ONEOK by August 1, and will be paid by Oct. 1, 2008.  

Please consider ideas for next year's ONEOK Foundation Grants should they continue to be made available.  Use the BASE grant application form to submit your grant application and clearly print at the top of the form that the application is for the ONEOK grant.  The BASE grant application form may be found on the USD 205 website in pdf form or Word.  BASE will review the grant requests and will select one application to be submitted to the ONEOK Foundation for consideration.

Only one grant may be awarded to a district public school foundation in each calendar year.  BASE was awarded a ONEOK grant in 2006 to fund the purchase of a Promethean Collaborative Classroom system for Susan Wrampe’s classroom at BHS.  Bluestem High School was also awarded a grant in 2007 to purchase graphing calculators and projection system for their Math Department.

Applications may be submitted by anyone with a program or project that meets these guidelines:

1.  The request must be for less than $10,000.  (The ONEOK representative suggested an amount of around $1500.)
2.  The project must improve the educational experience of K-12 students.
3.  Priorities will be given to innovative projects:

• • that enrich classroom programs and projects;
  • that provide assistance to disadvantaged students;
  • that provide school supplies and equipment;
  • that improve student performance; or
  • that are not sufficiently funded by the school district.

The following are not eligible for grant funds:

1.  Teacher and student scholarships;

2.  Sponsorships such as athletic events, yearbooks, travel expenses for school-related trips.
